Last night was the Semi Final Italy v Germany and to my delight Italy won 2-1 and the German goal was only achieved at the last minute on penalties.
Sitting outside on a balmy evening watching the football surrounded by excited Italians was actually rather fun. What will it be like on Sunday evening when Italy take on Spain in the final?
Me too I am not into football, basketball or any kind of sports except bowling but I do like to watch who is going to win and wish that nobody get hurt. Sometimes fans get carried away and they get rude to each other which starts a fight. Great post here thanks for sharing. Happy weekend!

Oh Lindy, I'll keep my fingers crossed and...FORZA AZZURRI!!!!
ReplyDeleteHave a nice day
Dear Lindy, thank you very much for supporting ITALY. The match was fantastic, especially seen from where I stood most of the time: 5 cm away from the screen. I so wish I could have been there, to share a few mad moments. My living rooms was like a volcano ready to erupt, last night! I LOVE FOOTBALL and I love my country! Yes, we are a nations of eccentric, crazy, beautiful people!And... our fans are not hooligans: they may be loud, but not violent! I think this is just fantastic!
ReplyDeleteI'll be watching tomorrow. FORZA ITALIA, FORZA AZZURRI! WE ARE JUST TOO GOOD!
CIAO!

Anna do try to keep calm, we all love you too much for you to erupt like a volcano♥
DeleteTrue Rosemary.
DeleteThis Eurocup is hard for us. My family is Spanish and my sister lives and married an Italian. I think this is going to divide our family for sure!
ReplyDeleteNot a fan of football myself, but still sending Good Luck to Italy.
ReplyDeleteGood for you, Rosemary! Tomorrow is V.E Day!
DeleteI hope we win... I promise not to erupt if we do... if we don't... I'll forget all about it within a few days! I love Spain and Spanish people and I DID buy Spanish garlic, the other day!
CIao to you and Lindy!

It is exciting indeed!
ReplyDeleteI watched it on television last weekend, and they played an amazing game.
Have a wonderful weekend Linda!
xo.
It does sound very exciting to be a participant in this exciting event!
ReplyDeleteFantastic header photo, Linda! I have been following the football and Italy were on fire last night. Let's hope they can win in the Final. I shall be supporting them!
ReplyDeleteI just cannot get any enthusiasm for football, one of the few sports that do not interest me!! Diane
ReplyDeleteIt is exciting for your team. Congrats to Italy. Have a lovely weekend!
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun experience, Linda. :-) After growing up with all brothers I couldn't get away from sport, so when I was on my own I NEVER watched it. :-) Now I'm in Australia where my loved ones are absolutely mad about "footie" as they call it. Although I doubt I'll ever be a rabid fan, I do have fun watching with them, highly amused at their exultations and crushing disappointments. :-)
ReplyDeletesounds fun!! my family is sports crazed so I end up getting caught in the passions too, just because it rubs off!
ReplyDeleteI bet the whole country is celebrating it ally's victory. Who will they play in the finals?
ReplyDeleteWatched with my son and on previous form we were expecting a German win. However on the night Italy were by far the best team and deserved the win.
ReplyDeleteNow the final. Good luck ...
I am not a sport person but think it is good for people to support their county in sporting events
ReplyDeleteHi Linda,
ReplyDeleteI won't be watching the final as it's on so late here in Malaysia. I think it will be extremely close, maybe even penalties!

I have not interest in football but I wish you and your team well. x
ReplyDeleteExciting!
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing this posting. I really like your photos. It must be nice to live in Italy. I am an American expat who lives in Germany. I just started a new blog. Feel free to visit it if you would like to.
ReplyDeleteWow, hope your Sunday was exciting. I don't follow sports at all, so no idea who triumphed....but we were in Oregon a couple of years ago when the UO Oregon Ducks were working on the college football (US football of course) championship and I agree it is just exciting to share in the fever pitch.
ReplyDeleteI'm not a big soccer fan, but I know Italy wasn't very successful this year. In Toronto, social life is quite lively at this time.
ReplyDeleteI could almost sense a collective feeling of deep depression this past Sunday when Spain kicked butt at 4-0! Povera Italia...but atleast there's Ferragosto to look forward to!
ReplyDeleteI love, absolutely love, football! I saw every single Euro match and though England are my team, Italia are my 2nd favourite and once I got over the hurt of England losing, then it was all Forza Italia for me!
ReplyDeleteRemember, this is a woman who named one of her new kittens, Mario, after Mario Balotelli!!!!!
It was heartbreaking that Italia lost to Spain on Sunday, and I feel for all my Italian friends and send that wonderful country my sympathy.
I used to love going to the football games in England and support Crystal Palace. American football just doesn't have the same excitement and seems so staged.
ReplyDeleteAnn
Sorry, but Spain is superior.
ReplyDeletegood post about
ReplyDeleteItaly - European Cup Football 2012
