I am very excited to announce that News From Italy has been accepted by Expatblogs.com as a contender for one of their awards. May I please ask you to leave a comment there about News From Italy? This would be very much appreciated and help to improve my blogs rating.
Thanks lovely followers. :)
I have also shared the photo below on my photography blog today, LindyLouMac's World in Photographs but I know that not all of you have time to call by there very often, so sharing here as well.
An Autumnal favourite of ours, that we were able to enjoy freshly roasted in an open fire over the weekend.
Congratulations Lindy lou

Well done! Hope you win the award, Lindy!
ReplyDeleteI love roast chestnuts...
Hi, Lindy! I left a comment on Expatblogs. Com. just now. It was approved, so it will appear soon. I love chestnuts and Mon Blant, which is a cake with chestnuts cream on top and is named after the mountain, is my favorite. “Tenshin amaguri” (sweet roasted chestnuts in Chinese way) are often sold at open fair. With best wishes.

We'll be roasting some of those chestnuts that we picked up in Ardeche, and hopefully have some left so that I can use them in some recipes. I know our dogs will be expecting there share too.
ReplyDeleteAutumn in Italy
ReplyDeleteseems so wonderful and buttery rich
in color....chestnut brown is a favorite
of mine:)
I remember my grandmother's chestnut grove
(and how painful to traipse through at the
wrong time of year, always with bare feet)
Glad you're back blogging again,
Jenn
Congratulations to your Award ! I left a comment of course. The chestnut picture I have seen already.
ReplyDeleteoh yes, the chestnuts. I did visit Rocertederici/Tuscany many years ago and I remember seeing these on the ground where I was told the wild pigs come to eat. Watch out for the wild pigs! I got to taste roasted-chestnuts but can't say they tasted as good as they looked. "Memories"
ReplyDeleteCongrats on the award. I've never even SEEN a roasted chestnut - had to read the comments to even make sure what it was. Looks like it would be fun if a little hard work to do this.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations! And good luck! I had my first roasted chestnut last year in NYC at Christmastime. I was thrilled.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations and good luck. Can you believe that I have never tried roasted chestnuts? I bet they are delicious, especially when fresh roasted.
ReplyDeleteCongrats to you! I am so happy for you LindyLou.
