A few weeks ago I wrote a post about the big changes taking place at the Fisherman's Beach - Spiaggia del Pescatore in Marta. In case you missed the post you can read it here.
After reading that post a friend of mine very kindly sent me a selection of photos that she took when she was visiting Marta for me to share with you.
The Fisherman's Beach, Marta as it used to be.
With thanks to Carol Sansone for these lovely photos. The good news is that hopefully one day it will once again look like this as the trees have been replaced.
I will show you the latest developments in a future post.
Meanwhile have a lovely first weekend of Spring, or Autumn depending where you are in the world. At the moment I am enjoying sharing the awakening of Spring here in Italy, over on my photography blog. I would love you to come by and join me. LindyLouMac's World In Photos

Those are beautiful pictures and it certain was a lovely place. As you say...maybe someday it will look like that again. Thanks for sharing those.
ReplyDeleteA beach with trees is very unusual, to me. This reminds me more of a lake, than a trditional beach... the seaside, as you would call it. Which is the reason why it should have been kept as it was, probably...
ReplyDeleteThe place is beautuful, whatever, Lindy... trees or no trees, it's very nice!

Lovely photos for us today. The clocks go forward here tomorrow night, so spring really will have arrived!
ReplyDeleteThe restoration of the trees is a wonderful idea. It is unusual to see trees on a beach.
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful spot for strolling, Linda. :-) I hope the trees grow wondrously fast and leafy so everything looks beautiful again. :-)
ReplyDeleteLovely pictures - it looks like a beautiful spot.
ReplyDeleteHappy Spring to you! Today is the first day it has actually felt like Autumn here in Brisbane. The temps are cooler and the weather is just perfect!

They are really lovely. As I imagined Italy, it must be beautiful country.
ReplyDeleteHello Linda, ooh what delightful little Spring pom-poms in your header photograph, just lovely! Great news about the trees, they really were a dominant feature of the coast line weren't they.

It is a shame about the trees. I guess they will be replanting soon and then it will look better. It is a lovely spot. I would love to live by the ocean.
ReplyDeleteWhat beautiful photos and such a shame about the trees we lost some lovely trees here in Newcastle where I live recently and yes they will replant but it will take a bloody long time for them to grow and be awesome trees again.
ReplyDeleteAutumn for us, my favorite time of year. Lovely photos from your friend. Enjoy Spring, ciao lisa x

ReplyDeleteMuch appreciated!
What a change, I guess you will get used to the new look!!
ReplyDeleteNo I am still on old blogger and I am happy with it:) It was just the shock of it being changed and Nigel did not realise what he had done!! Diane
Linda, I went back at looked at the Feb. post that I missed. Seeing these pictures really points up the difference.
ReplyDeletePerhaps this time they will be more selective in the pruning. Looking at the pics in this post is obvious and aborist didn't supervise the pruning. I wonder if that had anything to do with the problem.
Hopefully planting will be completed soon.
Blesssings,
I love spring.
ReplyDeleteLovely series and very beautiful place!
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing;o)

ReplyDeleteMarta is a lovely place. Thanks for sharing these beautiful photos.
ReplyDeleteP.S.: Your Italian is getting better and better. Brava Lindy!
Your pictures make me want to see it for myself!
ReplyDeleteSad to know that the trees are all gone - but I'm sure that the community is having a good (!) time deciding on how to replace them.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous photos, and lovely view though!
ReplyDeleteIT looks such a beautiful place - one day...one day....when ou children are bigger, I'd love to visit Italy again.
ReplyDeleteSaahx
There is a massive difference between the trees with leaves and the trees without leaves. If I had not seen the photos with the trees then I would never have thought twice about a lack of trees, as most beaches do not have trees unless they are palm trees.
ReplyDeletecome sempre foto meravigliose! complimenti!

ReplyDeleteI am so glad they have replanted the trees. Hopefully it will look like that again in few years.
