I have shared a few photos individually but I have also included slideshows for those who have the time and the inclination to view. Transporting you to our garden in Italy for just a few minutes is the aim as always, which I hope to have achieved again today.
As you can see from the above photos we have enjoyed a good selection of fruit this summer.
Geraniums |
Magnolia |
Bears Breeches |
Persian Acacia |
Our July colour is thanks to our pots!
Finally a favourite photo of mine from this month is this Purple Hibiscus that I am also posting for a meme on my photography blog today. LindyLouMac's World in Photos
Slideshow of Our Garden in June
The second slideshow is much shorter as the drought has meant there has not been much variety or change in the plants since last month, apart from growth, so if you are short of time this is the one to watch!

What an impressive and nice flowers! I like such garden.
ReplyDeleteBellissimo!!!
ReplyDeleteHello:
ReplyDeleteDespite what you say about the drought conditions, your garden is looking most attractive with all of its summer colour and variation, as may be seen in your slide shows which really do convey something of the hard work which you must constantly put in.
As with you, the extremely hot weather in Hungary continues day after day with little in the way of respite and the occasional violent thunderstorm does little to either clear the air or lower the temperature.
I'm so sorry about your garden. We're lucky, we have some very efficient ancient water collection tanks, and never have any water shortage (or at least, so far!). One of my favorite flowers is the pblumbago - I tried growing it twice, but winter here it's too cold for it. :(
ReplyDeleteThe magnolia is gorgeous. It is a very common southern tree here. The Bears breeches are beautiful and I have not seen them before. We have drought here too but may get rain this week. I water the small flower garden only and never our grass lawn. So sorry about the pop up-I cannot opt out of them and would if I could. The revenue is helping with CC's college which is killing me. Have a lovely week, Olive
ReplyDeleteBears Breeches are new to me! Your garden is a lovely riot of colour and just what I'd imagine to be possible in Italy. Like you, we are lucky to have our own well. While we get a lot of rain early in summer, the island is a big rock and it all rolls off, leaving drought conditions every year in late July.
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely lovely photos!!
ReplyDeleteWe have had almost no fruit this year, the late frost put paid to that. We have had some showers on and off, so no water ban here and although the vegetable garden is late, it at last is producing quite a bit at the moment. I will do a garden blog soon so you can see what we have. Have a good week. Diane
ReplyDeleteBeautiful flowers and fruit. My little container garden of tomatoes and herbs are doing well and we have a few strawberries as well.
ReplyDeleteLovely, and your photos are so vivid I actually inhaled deeply when I saw the Magnolia blossom.
ReplyDeleteAlthough you have a drought your plants look wonderful. I am particularly attracted to those delicious looking cherries, and the delicate flowers of the Persian acacia. My acanthus has no flowers at all this year, just large leaves.
ReplyDeleteYou must have a beautiful garden with lots of colour and tasty fruit.
ReplyDeleteYou have lost a lot of plants through lack of water - we have lost some through to much rain!! There must be a happy medium somewhere doesn't there?
Love your garden! Especially the fruit. We have a couple of satsuma trees that are bearing fruit, but it will be a while before they're ready to pick. I can't wait. Your Persian Acacia looks like our mimosa tree.
ReplyDeleteYour garden is lovely. I like seeing all the flowers in pots and you have some nice shady places. We're planning what to collect in the way of flower seeds for next year here in the UK and digging up potatoes, gathering other vegetables etc.
ReplyDeleteI LOVE these glimpses of your garden, Linda. :-) I do understand your "disaster" of a veggie garden. Mine was like that last year. The weather did some crazy to all the gardens in this area. Hopefully this year will be better. :-)
ReplyDeleteNow I know from where we have to import our fruits, lol ! We have no summer, it's cold and rainy, and I am not very lucky with the weather here in Eastbourne either ! But I managed to catch a sunburn on my forehead yesterday ! When I go back on Monday my friends will think I came from the côte d'Azur !
ReplyDeleteI love seeing your garden Linda, and that's a magnificent hibiscus!
ReplyDeleteFor a dry summer, things are looking pretty wonderful in your garden.
ReplyDeleteLovely lovely atmosphere in your garden, Lindy!
ReplyDeleteThank you for the wonderful tour!
:-) Dorthe
Ps. Your new header is also lovely!
Gardening is so rewarding and many plants put on a good show even in the most harsh conditions as your garden shows. We have given up on parts of our vegetable garden because here it had been too cold and wet.
ReplyDeleteI have enjoyed seeing your beautiful garden, and some virtual Italian sunshine.
ReplyDeleteHow I wish I could share some of this non-ending Irish rain with you LindyLou, and you could send me some hot sun.
Beautiful garden! How lucky that you have a well! The magnolia is an exceptional example of one of my favorites.
ReplyDeleteoh my gosh!! your fruit looks wonderful. I do not grow fruit here in this house...I so miss growing it..never looked as good as yours! and your flowers..wow..a little slice of heaven.
ReplyDeleteThe gardens are just fabulous, this is sure serious dedication, congrats.
ReplyDeleteThankyou for your interest despite the fact that you are just linking to advertising holidays!
DeleteYour efforts in watering it pays off for those in the photos looks marvelous! Gorgeous plants!! Here continues with very hot weather and no rain. It is 105 Farenheit degrees at the moment. I love the photos your shared! I truly felt transported to your garden.
ReplyDeleteWhat a shame that you have lost many plants this year. But your garden still has an incredible bounty to share. It's also wonderful that you have your own well. Have a great weekend ahead, Linda! – g
ReplyDeletea year of extremes, indeed!
ReplyDeletewhat glorious cherries, though.

ReplyDeleteII am sorry to hear about the drought in Italy. It looks like you have been really busy taking care of your garden. Beautiful photos of the fresh fruit - they look very tasty. I miss having a garden.
