I think most of you reading News From Italy will have noticed that I post lots of photographs here. Photography is something I have always enjoyed so now with time to experiment and the opportunity to share some of the results with you here, I seem to be taking more than ever.
Yesterday evening the colours in the sky were beautiful and there was a haze around the moon. By coincidence the Beautiful World Themed Thursday subject this week is Haze, so I took a series of photos which I am sharing here and one over there.
For sometime now I have also been thinking about linking up with a popular meme called Skywatch Friday, this series of photos has given me the opportunity to do so.
The photos were all taken from our roof terrace on the evening of September 7th 2011.
Finally the haze around the moon in close up that I posted for Themed Thursday on Beautiful World

Wishing you all a pleasant weekend and do take a minute or two to enjoy the sky.
The colors in that eighth picture down are spectacularly dramatic. The fact that blue and orange are complimentary colors adds to the dramatic effect. That was a convention recognized by the Renaissance painters, hence one will see the pairings of reds and greens, purples and yellows, blues and oranges (not the fruit necessarily :) ), etc. in paintings.
ReplyDeleteI like those hazy moon photos also, it looks like the moon is really glowing.
Awesome! The colours are so dramatic and the moon shots are captivating. I took some photos of the full moon last month which appeared orange and hope to post sometime. Did you see the same where you are? The lack of artificial light in the Italian countryside makes looking at the sky at night so enjoyable.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photographs. I'm back in the UK and we've had mostly cloud and rain. Well done!
ReplyDeleteTHose are beautiful skies. LOve the colors.
ReplyDeleteThe prettiest sky, with pink feathered clouds - I love to see it that way! I'm your newest follower and look forward to reading more and to enjoying your photos.
ReplyDeleteWhat stunning photos you caught of that lovely evening sky, Linda. We haven't seen many like that this summer I'm afraid. Loved the shots of the moon, and just right for linking up to the subject of Haze.

Oh my, terrific skies for your first post to SWF! Love the purples!
ReplyDeleteWelcome to SkyWatch!
ReplyDeleteI used to work for a farmer who called that haze a harvest moon. It meant that it was going to rain immanently so better get the grain in quick.
The moon in your first photo glows like a gem over the Italian skies. I visited Italy a while ago and found that its enormous history also casts a spell.
ReplyDeleteHi LindyLou! You have produced some lovely photos here! I enjoyed looking them over. I have traveled enough in Italy to understand why you would want to live there. I would like to visit again, and peruse your blog and sidebar of others blogs from Italy. Thanks for stopping by!

I never understood those electronic gates that people have before, but I kind of do now! Enjoy the rest of your weekend, I can't believe the temperature your having! Love Linda x
