A corner of our terrace.
Another month has flown by and it is time once again for me to share some of my favourite garden photos from the last month with you. Once again I have had difficulty selecting just a few from the many I have taken over the last few weeks. Just under 200 again this month, it is just too easy to get carried away with digital photography but I do enjoy myself. Did you spot me in the first photograph?
The interested gardeners and photographers amongst you will find the full album on Flickr. Our Garden - July 2011
Agapanthus have put on a beautiful display for the entire month.
Another plant providing splashes of blue in the garden this month has been Plumbago, the colour is so intense I just had to show you a close up.
The Crape Myrtle has flowered really well this year and what a stunning colour!
You will notice in the above photos of the hibiscus trees that we were not the only ones enjoying them!
Our Garden is also just as much about productive plants as it is about colour so I must, I feel include a few produce shots.
This month we have enjoyed plums, greengages and some very early pears as well as these delicious peaches.
The orto (vegetable plot) though has not been producing very well at all this year, enough for two of us but not much in the way of surplus crops apart from courgettes and we have no real idea why. We are growing three different varieties of tomatoes and these cherry tomatoes are producing the most fruit so far.
Finally it looks like the apple harvest will be another bumper crop.

Welcome to ‘News From Italy’ to the other participants of Post of the Month Club, thankyou for calling by. I hope you have found some pleasure in sharing photos from my garden in Italy, a popular regular post that I hope will encourage you to call by again. I have made so many virtual friends from around the world via this blog, such a friendly network of people, many that also have blogs of their own that they publish for a multitude of different reasons.
I will not be posting here on News From Italy again until sometime early next week as my cousin is staying at the moment and I shall want to spend time with her not blogging, although I may have a book review ready to post over on LindyLouMac's Book Reviews during the week. I will also continue to post a daily photo on Beautiful World maybe you will join me there.
Thanks to Mademoiselle Poirot for the August Break Logo.
Hi LindyLou. I just got back from my month overseas. Sadly Italy wasn't on the itinerary this time (have visited twice though) but seeing your gorgeous pics makes me homesick for Italy and those dreamy tomatoes we used to buy on the stalks. Yummeeeeee....Enjoy your visitor.
ReplyDeleteHi! Stopped by from Post of the Month Club. Beautiful garden! I felt as if I was strolling through it with you! Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteAhhhh. Can I please come and share your peaches.I clearly live in the wrong climate.

ReplyDeleteHello Linda!!
ReplyDeleteEveryone looks so lovely and beautiful in your garden... Our July month has been a month of cool/gray autumn like weather in Ile de France... Not much of a summer.. but hopefully August will be hot... Thanks for sharing your lovely photos with us.. Ciao.. Leesa
Hello green fingered friend!
ReplyDeleteExcept for your lush Agaphantus, well, it could be my garden! ;-)
Well done you!
Hi Lindy. Enjoy your time with your cousin, and you are quite right not to think about blogging whilst she is staying with you! Beautiful photos of your garden. Wow! Look at those gorgeous peaches. Amazing! I love Agapanthus - we have them right outside the dining room window. Such a wonderful colour blue. See you soon my friend.
ReplyDeleteMAGNIFIQUES!!!A presto !
ReplyDeleteBeautiful, as always. I do admire you, as I can't garden to save my life!
ReplyDeleteLinda you have some really interesting plants in your garden. My apples this year are the best we have had, but our trees are still small so the next few years should improve them. I have courgettes and tomatoes coming out of my ears from only a few plants. At long last I have a bit of colour as the packets of mixed seeds I put in are taking off. I must take some more photos. Take care Diane
ReplyDeleteThe Plumbago is so pretty, and the colour of the Crape Myrtle is just so stunning I love it. I would love to have an apple tree and a mandrain tree but huppy is not so interestered.
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderfully colourful garden and productive too! I love all the fruits that are around just now and at the moment my diet consists of fresh tomatoes, peppers, peaches, melon, plums.........delicious!
ReplyDeleteThe garden is magic! All these flowers, blossoms and fruits are the real feast for eyes.
ReplyDeleteYour garden is truly bountiful and beautiful. I have never seen Crape Myrtle before. What a fascinating plant! There's nothing better than picking your own fruit - especially in the coolness of the morning. Lucky you!
ReplyDeleteI love hibiscus. They have such large beautiful blooms. I used to have a hibiscus plant, but the squirrels around here love to bite the blooms off! They don't eat the flowers, they just take the bloom off the bush!
ReplyDeleteYour vegetable garden looks yummy!!
You have an incredible garden! The colors on some of those flowers are incredible!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your time with your cousin!
If I were an aunt I'd love to go exploring in your gorgeous hibiscus blooms! :-)
ReplyDeleteyeesh, make that ANT, not aunt :-)
ReplyDeleteWhat a luscious and delicious garden you have!
ReplyDeleteWow! Just LOOK at your Plumbago! Such color!
ReplyDeleteCiao! I adore your garden!!! Thanks for sharing the amazing photos!
ReplyDeleteYou are really doing a great job with your camera Lindy! Looking at the previous post, I loved the night pictures you took.
ReplyDeleteAnd your garden is always beautiful, too! I was impressed with the tomato vine.
I am glad I can leave a comment today, because for the last two times I was not able to. My comments got lost before published.
take care dear!
Lindy,
ReplyDeleteYour garden is beautiful! I love the little window. So pretty!
My garden is looking pretty, too, but, unfortunately, I'm not here all year round. Maybe soo we will...

ooooh, peaches! Love. Gorgeous display in your garden this past month! The Agapanthus is especially lovely! And the peaches, of course ;-)
ReplyDeleteThe Crape Myrtle is looking very interesting flower, love the color and the shape of the flower. Hipiscus is so gorgeous, you are so lucky to live there:) Just little envy:)
ReplyDeleteIt's great to be able to watch your garden developing as the months go by. It looks beautiful.
ReplyDeleteWell that is odd to hear about your garden. We're experiencing the same thing...enough for us but nothing to give away. And it was actually a nice spring and moderate early summer where temps are concerned!
ReplyDeleteYour garden is so beautiful and so productive, well done. I'm hoping to make some progress in our Lazio garden this extended visit but I doubt I shall reach your standard.
ReplyDeleteI do envy you gardening in the Italian climate. You know that it is going to be warm or even hot. Everything in your garden looks in such good condition.
ReplyDeleteSuch beautiful colours and the fruit looks amazing! The summer is flying by and I really need to remember to take photos of the garden, I can't believe how much bigger everything is compared to last year here.
ReplyDeleteHave a lovely weekend,
Jade
Lindy Lou,
ReplyDeleteYour photos are gorgeous, especially the hibiscus. They are glorious! Looks like you can make a lot of peach jam, peach pies, tarts. And your tomatoes look very large for cherry tomatoes. I have an apple tree that is mature but only has one apple on it this year. Sigh!
What a delightful garden. Looks like heaven!
ReplyDeleteSo many similarities between your garden and mine - except yours seems more expansive and more productive. I have agapanthus, plumbago, hibiscus and cherry tomatoes too! Our grandsons love to pick the cherry tomatoes and eat them straight off the bush - which is why we planted them!
ReplyDeleteThanks for dropping by my blog - it is always great to hear from you.
Wonderful images as ever Linda. The Crape Myrtle looks like a most exotic creature. Your produce is incredible, you are so lucky to have all that to hand. Your diet must be sooo healthy! I tasted greengages for the first time a couple of weeks ago and loved them! Love Linda x
ReplyDeleteI know what you mean about getting carried away snapping pictures! What model of digital camera do you have? Your garden looks lovely and the close-ups are very clear and detailed.

Rest assured, we enjoy the photos of your garden. Wish I could also enjoy some of those peaches! Nancy
ReplyDeleteWhat a glorious garden! I was transported completely by these delightful photographs. What a rude awakening to now have to return to my normal morning chores when I'd far rather be strolling through your orchard and vegetable garden, and smelling the summery fragrances of your beautiful flowers. Please let us visit again :)
ReplyDeleteI love your garden! We grow agapanthus also and it is one of favorite. I love when I see a new bud start...and know I will have a gorgeous flower soon!
ReplyDeleteWhat gorgeous photos and the peaches look delicious.
ReplyDeleteYou have maintaining your garden very nicely. Great work. Thanks for sharing.
