A rather different sort of event from the ones we normally attend and that I post about here, nonetheless just as enjoyable. This year I have made the still photos I took of the cars into a slide show presentation. I present my interpretation of the Cronoscalata for those of you that appreciate cars!
If you would prefer to view the photographs as stills they can be viewed on Flickr.com in my album entitled XIV Cronoscalata Montefiascone 2011
If you have some time to view them these videos produced by a local TV station are very interesting and create a good impression of the event, even if you do not understand the Italian. On the YouTube page itself you can read the names of some of the participants, there were over 100!
I also featured this event on News From Italy last year XIII Cronoscalata Montefiascone 2010
These Hill Race Climbs take place all over Italy and more information can be found about the events at the website dedicated to the Cronoscalata
This is the first in a series which I hope to participate in from time to time, welcome to anyone who has called by from this new fun theme about sharing La Dolce Vita in Italy.
Those cars look so tiny!!!
ReplyDeleteDid you guys have that horrible storm last night?? It took down our gazebo and the wind was just HOWLING!!!
I remember this from last year. I just about managed to get through your slide show with only a few hitches, presumably because there was no sound. Wish I could have been there. I did not even try the two video clips!!! Take care Diane x
ReplyDeleteLinda,
ReplyDeleteSounds like a wonderful event. I shall have to come back for video clips. Jack is still sleeping.

Once a year a race with historical cars is held here, and our ONE road gets blocked for many hours. Each year we go to the comune and protest vehemently against the race, but letting those vintage cars drive too fast on our road seems more important than allowing the residents to get on with their life. Next year, I shall suggest that they move it Montefiascone :)
ReplyDeleteI don't know a lot bout cars but I do enjoy looking at and photographing them, especially the details.

ReplyDeleteLet me try again, posted too soon. Looks like it was fun, a lot of interesting cars. I will show the videos to my wife tonight. Francesca, I understand what you are saying, and if the race was held in my neighborhood, it would be very disruptive. Some cool cars though.
ReplyDeleteThat looks like a lot of fun. It's good to mix things up every once in awhile. I usually go to the Western Stock Show when it's in town, even though I'm no cowgirl.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the share, this is quite the event.
ReplyDeleteI'm indeed a bit busy here as you noticed with my real life, and guess what.... next week when we leave no computer in sight! will post soon this week but wanted to say thanks for your sweet comment, see you soon!

beautiful photos,,
ReplyDeleteA road race! Looks like fun, perhaps smelly from fumes, but fun.
ReplyDeleteIt looks great fun.
ReplyDeleteInteresting. Here it is too flat and too wet (well last weekend was) for such activities!
ReplyDeleteHaving problems with links and probably my settings, not yours. Just dropped by to say 'hello'. The race looks interesting - the sort of thing that interests my husband and brothers-in-law!
ReplyDeleteOMG! I will have to share this with my son. He loves all things about Italian cars. That boy loves talking about cars!
ReplyDeleteHave a great day Linda!
I love hearing about your life in Italy, LindyLou! Cars aren't my thing, but it sounds like an interesting event!
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to see more about la Dolce Vita in Italy then! ;-)
