Friday Photo–Mimosa In My Window

I am not feeling very inspired today as the news of yet another natural disaster has left me feeling rather sad.
Mother Nature seems to be in turmoil.

Little Red HouseI have linked this post to lots of other beautiful Mosaics at Little Red House

  1. Beautiful photos of the Mimosa Linda, but you are quite right. We are sat here right now just watching all that is going on in Japan. It's heartbreaking and you are so right, Mother Nature does seem to be in turmoil right now, what with Australia, New Zealand and now Japan. Thank God that we are all safe. Take care.

  6. Spring is on its' way.

We complain about what we see as the excesses of the weather but Europe's weather is tame by comparison with events in Australia, New zealand and Japan.

  7. Last year, we arrived in Soriano in early March and it was the first time I'd ever actually seen a Mimosa tree. It was overwhelmingly beautiful. Thanks for sharing yours

  8. As Mr. B and I were riding out of our neighborhood on the way to the bank, I said, "I'm grateful that our part of the world is normal." Can't imagine how terrible things are in Japan.

Mr. B and I met in an Italian class at the University of Georgia. He already spoke Spanish since he had worked in Spain and attended the University of Madrid. All I learned to say in Italian was, "I love you," which was all I needed.

  9. I know exactly what you mean. This earthquake in Japan business just seems to take the wind right out of blogging. Your mimosas are beautiful.

  11. Gorgeous photos of the mimosa.

  12. I agree with Alessandra, nature is so powerful in positive and negative ways. We should all count our blessings when we see what can happen and I refuse to rant about how our neighbour in Lazio chopped down our lovely mimosa.

  15. Hi Linda. I found you via "thisisme" at Southhamsdarling. My husband is 100% Italian and I am a "combo" of Irish, Welsh, Norwegian, Pennsyvania Dutch and German. We celebrate our 10th wedding anniversary this year, and it is our dream to come to Italy. I recently wrote a post about "I love Everything Italian"...so you can imagine when I saw your button on "thisisme's" blog! I had to come visit...

The mimosa from your window and in the vase is so beautiful and cheerful! I know I will be back to investigate further...so I have decided to follow you. Looking forward to our next visit. Ciao! Arrivederci...

  16. Hello Sweetie...
Yes sweet friend, sadly there has been another disaster, it has left us all grieving for the country of Japan and all of those families that are surrounding. Also the west coast for their losses. Much damage there as well.

But just look at the blooms of your beautiful mimosas. It is a promise from God that there is a tomorrow. Beauty still stands tall. Have faith sweet friend. There is a reason for everything, and while so much was lost during this earthquake, there are also blessings amongst in stories coming out. We shall hold on to our faith and continue to pray for this country, the families and all that are coming to help in this disaster. May they all remain safe in his precious care.

Smile sweetie. You are SO loved. Many hugs and much love, Sherry

  17. This is a bright and cheerful photo you have posted. I have not seen a yellow mimosa before -we have pink ones that will bloom later. I really like the deep window ledge.

Linda, I think a lot of people have experienced the same feelings. It took me a while before I could finish a post I already had in the making.
The pictures continue to play over and over in my mind.
