Door No 1.
I started this series last month, so for new readers I have welcomed since then here is the link to view the photograph in full size. Friday Photo - Doors - No 1
Have a lovely weekend everyone where ever you may in the world and what ever you will be doing.
Great photograph of the door, it looks so solid and can probably tell a good many stories of people that have been through it when open!! Have a great weekend, Jackie in sunny Surrey.
ReplyDeleteGood picture! I will look into it why your thumbnail doesn't appear, I believe it has something to do with html or so, hope you have a good weekend too!
ReplyDeleteMaureen
I also like to take photos of doors! I'm always thinking about dingo a blog post about them one day.
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful weekend!
Great door! Oh to have that much history around you...it must be wonderful!
ReplyDeleteOn a side note...I was looking back at when I started my blog...it was almost a year ago and you were my second comment! Thanks for that! It gave me the courage to press on...I always love visiting your site too!!
Oh I bet you have so many doors to photograph in your area! Thanks for your follow.
ReplyDeleteThese doors are so interesting, so mysterious and evocative. Keep taking photos and sharing them with us. Here in the new world, we don't have a great deal of history to gaze at.
ReplyDeleteI'm wondering what building that door is the entrance to? It looks so solid and unusual. It looks very old! Good photo for this Friday, LindyLou!
ReplyDeleteI also like photo's of interesting doors. I imagine the stories that the doors could tell...of the comings and goings and events that occurred. This one is wonderful!
ReplyDeleteLove it! And love this new series. Keep 'em coming.
ReplyDeleteI enjoy doors and am always looking at the unique ones either in color or design. This one is really impressive.
ReplyDeleteThank you for tagging along in my corner. Much appreciated and so I'll tag along in yours as well.
You asked for advice about blogs not updating. Wish I had any other than to say I've begun to think about it philosophically. We all seem to have a turn at not having our blog roll update or our own blog update so I think of this as experiencing rolling blackouts. Eventually, it rights itself until the next time and for that week that the blog languishes, we either take a break or carry on without fretting too much. This is all very good advice. I should take it. ☺
This door is so unusual - I wonder what tales it could tell? Thanks for sharing it with us.
ReplyDeleteCarolina Mountains@ It is a pleasure and thankyou also. I certainly have plenty of inspiration for my photography.
ReplyDeleteRosaria, Thanks for your encouragement.
Shelia@ Wouldn't it be fun to know!
Patricia@ Sorry I missed replying to you earlier, forgetting you were a no reply lady. They are fascinating doors here so much history!
ReplyDeleteThose are two of the most gorgeous doors. Looking forward to door #3. Now if we could only see what's behind them! Have a great weekend.

It really has fabulous character.
ReplyDeleteI love that door! Just beautiful... and the daffodils earlier, are absolutely stunning! thanks for weekend wishes, sending some right back all the way from Africa!
ReplyDeleteItalian doors can be very nice. I'm obsessed with windows instead. :)
ReplyDeleteCiao, Linda! I love Italian doors and I have already gathered a huge collection.
ReplyDeleteI am very glad that you are a door fan too! I like very much your doors.
Love the doors - great idea! Look forward to the next one! Natasha in Doha
ReplyDeleteYay! Love it, glad you are continuing this series. I highly approve.
ReplyDeleteWow, I would have to travel a long way to find a door with as much character. Ours are all covered with storm doors! Very interesting.
ReplyDeleteYour doors are beautiful. I took tons of similar pictures when I was in Italy (windows, too!) because the architecture is so stunning. One can just imagine all the folks who have passed through, clasped the knobs and bolts, felt secure and safe because of the sheer substance of the door ... so fascinating! Thanks for sharing and for visiting Cottage and Creek. I love reading about Italy. It's such a magical place!
ReplyDelete~Lynn
That is a magnificent door!
ReplyDeleteLove the door! And the arch above it is gorgeous! So much to see over there!
ReplyDeleteI love looking at different doors. They truly have personalities.
ReplyDeleteThat is the very thing that I love to look at anywhere in Europe. They have such beautiful doors, and I really like that they don't have tacky storm doors they have here!
ReplyDeleteThis door is beautiful - I remember Italy having lots of beautiful doors. What a good idea for a regular feature :) XOL
ReplyDeleteFlowers on my table@ I agree there is something that draws you in.
ReplyDeleteCathy@ Thanks :)
Debs@ It would be lovely to own a city appartment! Yes I know mclinky and join in a few, but not sure it would work here, but thanks for the idea.
Karen@ Thanks for the comments and wishes all the way from Africa. I enjoyed reading about your recent travels.
Dona@ I am obsessed with doors, windows and architectural elements of buildings :)
santatatiana@ Just so fascinating aren't they.
Tasha@ It is good to have you here, glad you like the idea.
Sall's Country Life@ The joy of virtual travel, happy you found it interesting.
Lynn@ I am delighted you are enjoying sharing our little piece of Italy.
EG Wow@ There are so many magnificent doors here.
BookQuoter@ Lots of the less substantial doors do have shutters though.
We know someone here in South Carolina who visits Italy annually and that's what she does: takes photos of doors and frames them. She gave me one that looks similar to this door too. I'd be in heaven if I could do this!
ReplyDeleteRoz@ It does seem that there are many of us that are fascinated by 'doors' I wonder why that is?
