In Memory of those that lost their lives for us.
Sunday 14th of November is Remembrance Sunday in the UK and although I did mention this Special Day in my last post November 11th I want to feature it here today in respect of my heritage.
In Italy servicemen who died for the nation are remembered on 4 November, when the ceasefire that followed the Armistice of Villa Giusti in 1918 began. Since 1977, this day has not been a public holiday, now, many services are held on the first Sunday of November.

ReplyDeleteWe shouldn't forget and maybe - just maybe - it will prevent us from making the same mistakes again. I agree with Alessandra... Have a lovely Sunday, Love from London, Carole xo
ReplyDeleteI try and always remember days like this..If it wasn't for the men/woman that gave their lives for us..Where would we be? God Bless them all..
ReplyDeleteIf only we would learn the true meaning of peace.
The sad thing..human nature..
Thank you for this post. For all of us, it is very important to remember.
ReplyDeleteLovely post LindyLou. So important that we remember all those men and women who have laid down their lives for us.
ReplyDeleteThank you for your e-mail, and I have followed the instructions to the letter, so hopefully it will work. Let me know!!!
Lovely voices!
ReplyDeleteThank you for stopping by today. I am sorry my song link wasn't working for you. :( It seems to work for me so I don't know what is up there.
ReplyDeleteI will for sure be stopping by to visit this blog often. We went to Italy the first time this August. We did a cruise so we went to Florence, Rome and Naples...I loved it! I have decendents from Malta. I am in awe that you two moved away after becoming empty nesters...wow. My husband 'talk' about doing something like that but haven't so far!! I am your newest follower!
This is a beautiful post. With my own son serving in Iraq, the dedication and sacrifice of military men and women has taken on an even deeper meaning. Thanks for posting this.
ReplyDeleteHope you had a buona domenica too!
ReplyDeleteHave you noticed how we tend to forget very easily here?
