  1. Great photograph of the door, it looks so solid and can probably tell a good many stories of people that have been through it when open!! Have a great weekend, Jackie in sunny Surrey.

  6. These doors are so interesting, so mysterious and evocative. Keep taking photos and sharing them with us. Here in the new world, we don't have a great deal of history to gaze at.

  7. I'm wondering what building that door is the entrance to? It looks so solid and unusual. It looks very old! Good photo for this Friday, LindyLou!

  10. I enjoy doors and am always looking at the unique ones either in color or design. This one is really impressive.

Thank you for tagging along in my corner. Much appreciated and so I'll tag along in yours as well.

You asked for advice about blogs not updating. Wish I had any other than to say I've begun to think about it philosophically. We all seem to have a turn at not having our blog roll update or our own blog update so I think of this as experiencing rolling blackouts. Eventually, it rights itself until the next time and for that week that the blog languishes, we either take a break or carry on without fretting too much. This is all very good advice. I should take it. ☺

  24. Wow, I would have to travel a long way to find a door with as much character. Ours are all covered with storm doors! Very interesting.

  25. Your doors are beautiful. I took tons of similar pictures when I was in Italy (windows, too!) because the architecture is so stunning. One can just imagine all the folks who have passed through, clasped the knobs and bolts, felt secure and safe because of the sheer substance of the door ... so fascinating! Thanks for sharing and for visiting Cottage and Creek. I love reading about Italy. It's such a magical place!

  31. We know someone here in South Carolina who visits Italy annually and that's what she does: takes photos of doors and frames them. She gave me one that looks similar to this door too. I'd be in heaven if I could do this!
