This was the scene that greeted us at 7am, around two inches deep and it has been snowing ever since!
Not much snow compared to some other areas of Italy but the snow is measuring 7" at the moment. Our gas tank is down to 10% ordered Monday and promised within 48hrs, somehow do not think it will delivered any time soon. Also no Sky TV since Monday as Tramontana (the strong northerly winds) damaged the dish!! What fun this is!
Stay warm everyone or cool if it is your summer and have a great weekend where ever you are.
With thanks to http://www.free-clipart-pictures.net/ for the snowflake clip art image.
This weather is not much fun is it! We still have our satellite dish thankfully. We are watching our tank carefully, I think we should be OK until we get to a warmer spell, hope so anyway as no trucks will get to us at the moment. No rubbish collected this week, but it is too cold for it to smell so no problems there! Keep warm Diane
ReplyDeleteYou are definitely having it worse than us. Our roads are clear, I have been to Guildford this morning.Do you rely on gas for your heating and cooking? Will you have to eat out more?
ReplyDeleteHope you get it sorted out soon and that you have a good weekend, Jackie in Surrey, UK.x
Wow - I cannot imagine 7" of snow right now. Still nothing here in VA, but I don't want any now until my grandson is born. I have to be able to get to the hospital, right? Stay warm.
ReplyDeleteThat is such a beautiful scenery to wake up in the morning to! I hope your gas tank will come soon. As we don't watch TV, I don't know how to comment on that. Stay warm and enjoy the beauty...
ReplyDeleteWow...so much pretty white. Stay warm and sip hot tea!
ReplyDeleteThanks for your visit yesterday!
Ciao Lindy...your Badge is here now http://teacherfromapulia.blogspot.com/p/blog-e-siti-amici.html
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing mine but I discovered there is a mistake in it could you change it with this new one, pls??
You will find it on my blog: thanks very much - grazie
It is not possible to post it here
Very beautiful photos for a very special event! :)
ReplyDeleteP.S.: After the ice more snow = Dopo il ghiaccio ancora neve. ;)
We lost reception from our dish for a bit with the snow--the wind blew right at it and the snow stuck. Next day it slid off.
ReplyDeleteWhat no Sky! and no gas! I hope you have a good supply of logs and a big fireplace?
ReplyDeleteLove your header photo , it's wonderful.
Being cold is not much fun but at least the snow looks prettier than grey, wet Cheshire. Keep warm.
ReplyDeleteI've been looking at your pics and videos of snow in Rome and it really seems unbelievable. Here in Canada we are used to snow, tons of it, but to see it covering Piazza Navona or the Colosseum is strange. Hope you have enough heat. Right now the weather is the same here at -1 as it is there in Italy, but we have loads of heat and are equipped to deal with cold weather. Actually, we are experiencing a mild winter. I worry for you and all my relatives in Italy.
ReplyDeleteI look at that picture and I think of a pot of soup on the stove, warm fleece clothing and a mug of hot chocolate. Brrrr but so beautiful!
ReplyDeleteI hope you're able to cope alright with this weather. It's a much different experience for an area not used to such conditions.
ReplyDeleteHoping you are snug and warm, as you know we are currently in Brisbane sweltering thought a tropical heatwave so I send you warm thoughts!
ReplyDeleteciao lisa
Oh dear I saw the forecast wasn't good for you. We are out for dinner tonight with friends from our Italian language class, I'm sure we shall all be chatting about your exceptional weather. Keep warm and safe.
ReplyDeleteWe don't have much snow but it has been really cold here! -15°C in the morning at the beginning of the week and -8 in the afternoon! Now it is less cold, around -10 in the morning and -5 in the afternoon;o)
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing;o)

Have a fabulous weekend and keep warm****
Hang in there! You must be getting all of our snow, unusual for us to not have snow this year, we are enjoying it! Zero degrees here though. Hope your fuel truck comes soon, get out the quilts!
ReplyDeleteKeep warm. Snow isn't much fun unless the whole country is geared up for it...
ReplyDeleteWe were also just talking about getting another delivery of oil....make some hot soup, stay warm, and hang in there!! Sending warm thoughts your way!!
ReplyDeleteVery interesting, I love that place, snowy white, delicious.
ReplyDeleteThis time of the year is the coldest. But in Japan according to the old calaender, spring started on February 4th. I am shivering in the cold. Still no snow yet. I hope your gas tank will be full now and stay warm. Your header is especially stunning!
ReplyDeletekeiko
What a pretty picture! I can't believe the freeze you guys are having though. Have the fuel trucks come?
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness Linda, I hope you have some real fires in the house! More time for blogging though, which is nice. You could even investigate Pinterest (tee hee). Love Linda x p.s. thanks for your lovely comments!
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful photo!
ReplyDeleteI'm listening to my grandparents' loud TV in the background, a furious debate about Rome snowed in!
ReplyDeleteLast night it snowed, 10 cm, but thanks to a pale sunshine it's melting down! Yay!
Take care!
Michela x
How pretty everything looks under a fresh blanket of snow!

Love your snowy pictures - a fresh fall of snow is always to pretty.
It is SO stunningly beautiful, Linda! :-) I've only every been in a storm in Italy once, and it was freezing cold rain. I would love to be there for a snowfall like this. :-)
