Sunday Song - Eros Ramazzotti - Il cammino

Wikipedia
Eros Ramazzotti at Sommarkrysset 2009
Eros Luciano Walter Ramazzotti was born on October 28, 1963 in Rome, Italy. The son of a pianist he was musical from an early age and harboured dreams of becoming a pop star. His musical career took off in the early 1980’s but it was not until some ten years later that he gained international recognition. Like other Italian stars I have featured he also owes his success somewhat to the Sanremo Festival in which he won the Newcomers section in 1984 with ‘Terra Promessa’ (Promised Land)and just a few years later he won overall with ‘Adesso Tu’ (Now You).  His success has been influenced by his unique voice which has been described as nasal and aggressive and his songs are always catchy melodies labelled as soft rock.
Albums
Cuori agitati (Troubled Hearts) (1985)
Nuovi eroi (New Heroes) (1986)
In certi momenti (Sometimes) (1987)
Musica è (Music Is) (1988)

More biographical and career information can be found about Eros Ramazzotti on Wikipedia, his Official Website and his Facebook Page it is from these sites and YouTube that I have found out all my information when researching this post.
I have featured Eros Ramazzotti once before singing a duet of Simply the Best with Tina Turner which you can listen to here but today I have chosen to share with you him singing Il Cammino – The Walk, Way or Journey, which I hope you will enjoy.

Lyrics to Il Cammino

Text from  Il Cammino Lyrics on http://www.lyricsmania.com/

Please note the following text is a ‘Google’ Translation but it will be a guide I hope for those of you interested.
Lyrics in English to The Way:
We were talking about you the other night
it was said that no more songs
those verses border
as beautiful as your youth
but if the heart has a broken wing
you just have to treat it because
not yet stop
other trips await you
instinct that you
do not believe ever
is this you know
who share the road
each of us
has its own way to go
take a breath but then
you do not stop walking
even if it seems longer than ever
some tough climbs of the heart
is that each of us
can stand you know
clinging to a ray of sunshine
and if the life we care
when we first review and then
only after we explained the
The hardest lesson for us
but teaches us that every storm
can rip a beautiful flower but
not the entire spring
can not scrape it off the ground can not
instinct that you
never to give
is this you know
who share the road
each of us
has its own way to go
take a breath but then
you do not stop walking
it begins to die in the moment
set fire to every passion
each of us
has its own little way to go
follow up of a dream that you
Who knows where it can get
who knows
each of us
has its own little way to go
even if it seems longer than ever
some tough climbs of the heart
is that each of us
can stand you know
clinging to a ray of sunshine
the sun above us
above us

  4. @Maria - I remember the scene in 'Only You' with that song...it always entertains me to hear Eros in American films as it surprises me how he's 'exported' well.

Linda - Another lovely song! Eros released an album in 2003 when I studied in Florence and I still associate his unique sound so strongly with Italy.

  13. Lovely! You could have an Italian playlist on your blog and I would listen to it all the time. I am not tech savy enough to add a play list to mine. Thanks so much for adding me to your blog roll. I do not have a badge and I have thought about making one but just have not done it yet and you are the first to ever ask me. ♥O

  14. Linda - Sorry your post must have appeared as I last posted. It is great that your Stepfather passed on an interest in his heritage to you. I agree it doesn't matter if you do not understand the words :)

Olive - Well maybe, but I do not want to overload the blog, so it takes too long to load as that might but people off. Also like you I am not at all tech savvy and need simple step by step guides to add anything. Also wary since a couple of my followers tell me they have had pop up ads on the site and I have no idea how to stop that. However you can get my Italian Music Playlist on YouTube here is the link for you, so that you can have a listen. Thanks for your interest.

  15. I'm a rabid Eros fan ... My parents are from Italy and I've been there many times. Also, everyone should check out Julia's blog -- I do! She's great. :)
Anyway, "Only You" (one of my all-time favorite films, due to the lush Italian scenery and, yes, the music!) includes two Eros songs -- I'm listening to them, and his countless other gorgeous songs, right now:
"Senza Perderci Di Vista" (you hear a good couple verses of that one in the movie) and "Amore Contro."
    Ciao! :)
