Photo and first paragraph from BMW/Mini Press Release.
As a genuine Crossover, the MINI Countryman bridges the gap between the classic concept of the MINI and a modern Sports Activity Vehicle. Boasting enhanced opportunities in urban mobility and beyond, the MINI Countryman offers that unique driving pleasure so typical of MINI to new target groups requiring extra space and flexibility. As the first model in the MINI range with four doors and a wide-opening rear lid, the MINI Countryman provides even greater freedom of space for truly versatile use, a slightly elevated seating position, and optimized driving comfort. Full integration of the passengers within the vehicle creates that driving experience so typical of MINI. And at the same time the MINI Countryman maintains that go-kart feeling likewise so characteristic of MINI, optional MINI ALL4 all-wheel drive offering an additional highlight for the genuine connoisseur. In a nutshell, therefore, the MINI Countryman offers all the characteristic features of the brand in terms of design, premium quality, handling, efficiency and customisation in new, fascinating style. Growing up in the sixties I have always been a big fan of the Mini. So when I saw a lovingly restored one in Viterbo earlier this year I just had to post the photos on News From Italy. It was a dismal day in February and unfortunately the photos I took did not not come out very well. Evolution of the Mini
Seeing this lovingly restored Mini I was amazed at how small it was in that original incarnation and how much it has evolved to become the 21st Century Mini. The first photo is the restored Mini I spotted in Viterbo and the second is one that took part in the Montefiascone Hill Climb - Cronoscalata in June of this year.

This is how the estate version looked era 1972.
Mini Countryman in its latest incarnation 2010
The New Mini Countryman is always an adventure.
In this recent advert for the Mini Countryman a fleet of them are running amok in the Italian countryside, no Italian needed to understand this weeks commercial! It is a fantasy world of flying Mini’s in an exaggerated picture of how the town and countryside may look if Mini Countryman dominated the car market. I have also included the video of the making of the commercial in Milano which is an interesting explanation of how the advert was made. Have you seen this in your country?
Just a bit of fun which I hope you will enjoy, have a good weekend everyone.
Invasion of the body snatchers, LOL!

I really love what they've done with the Mini brand - it still looks just as cute as always, even though it's been modernised. And the "mini adventure" adverts are always so much fun.
