Friday Foto - Emotional Moment

The Procession
Festa della Madonna del Monte
May 14th 2010

As part of this male dominated procession the priest blesses the youngest participant. I was unable to take a photo of the priest actually holding the baby aloft but I took this photograph immediately afterwards and if you look carefully you can see the emotion in the Father's face.

  5. Oh wow! This is such a sweet, powerful photo! I feel like I could stare at that father's face for hours--he looks so honest and open. Great capture! (If only you knew who he was, you could send it to him!)

  6. I am completely thrilled that you found and followed my blog this week! I don't know how you found me, but it's the only way that I could have found your blog to follow back. I am also so excited to read about your life in Italy. I'm all Italian-American and am an outrageous Italiaphile. If you return to visit my blog, you an find a link at the top that provides the Italian links and blogs that I know of so far that are worth visiting (in my opinion anyway). Please let me know what you think of this list. Do you have a 'button'/'badge' to exchange on put on each other's blogs for others to discover us for our own readers? Once again, I am so happy to meet you! Roz (aka bella)

  11. A very poignant photograph.
I would enjoy riding on a float or a horse, but I noticed that many were pulling floats and carrying large harvest bags for blessing. If that is true for most of the parade I would gladly let the men have their day.
Hope the rest of your weekend is nice, and I look forward to more of your posts.
